Thrive Themes Video Review
Are you feeling a little bit overwhelmed with way too many marketing tools? Well, today let's look at a possible solution to that problem in a company called Thrive Themes. What's up, everybody? My name is Donald with Finish Something. And today we're going to really dive into Thrive Themes. We're going to discuss what it is, what it isn't, the pros, the cons, the good, and the bad of this suite of marketing tools. In other words, we're going to explore all the ins and outs of Thrive.
So you can find out whether or not it's a solution that makes sense for you. Now, I can't claim to be a marketing guru or internet marketing guru, or any of that stuff. But I have been testing and learning for maybe the last six or seven years.
I've been around blog marketing and content marketing long enough to remember when I had to piece solutions together to get the outcome that I wanted. One internet marketing guru would recommend this tool. Then another person would recommend another tool and you've just got tons and tons of tools. By the end of it, you have this whole slew of tools that you're paying for, some of which you don't even really need.
And you're especially susceptible to that when you're just getting started, because you don't know. And this really does suck, because you're not starting an online business to see how many tools you can pay for. Not only does it eat away at your pockets, but sometimes founders don't update their tools. And you'll also find that sometimes in WordPress, some tools just do not work well together, and that can be a real hassle.
As you can probably tell, this is a brand spanking new channel. So if you like the review that you see today, please show me some love by hitting that subscribe button and making sure to ring that notification bell. So you can find out when I post new content.
THRIVE THEMES AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE
I'm going to start off today's review by letting you know upfront that, yes, I am a Thrive Themes affiliate. That means if you do end up purchasing Thrive Themes through one of the links in the description box below, I do earn a commission. However, on this channel I only recommend things that A) I personally use, and B) that I genuinely think will help you. And regardless of me being an affiliate, I will do this review honestly: the good, and the bad, because I want you to be able to make an honest decision for yourself. The last thing I want you to do is to waste money when you don't have to. I've been there, and it's not fun. So with that, let's get to the review.
THRIVE THEMES MISSION
Here's how Thrive Themes describes themselves. Conversion focused WordPress themes and plugins. Your all-in-one online business toolbox. Value-based actionable content, and the tools you need to implement it. Personally, I think of Thrive Themes as some of the best marketing tools you can get for WordPress. And because Thrive Themes has this team behind them that really takes pride in what they do, it delivers way more than you think.
THRIVE THEMES VIDEO REVIEW: PROS
I really like that just about everything Thrive designs is visually appealing, but I think it's just as important for these designs to be clean. Have you ever seen a site that looks good, but it's really, really cluttered?
When a new user comes to your site, you want them to have a good experience. I think part of that is not only visually appealing, but these clean pages that they feel like they can read easily, that makes it easy for them to go from one post to the next. It makes it easy for them to sign up for your email list and get more content from you.
Pro number two, Thrive Themes eliminates the need for other tools. With the exception of being an email marketing service, I currently use ConvertKit, Thrive covers just about everything you need. Landing pages, A/B testing, author boxes, exit-intent pop-ups, forms, membership sites, quizzes, you name it. Thrive probably does it.
Pro number three, team Thrive. Shane Melaugh and the team at Thrive Themes are part of the reason I've been a member for as long as I have. It's really nice to know that the team behind Thrive, everything that they do has a clear and meaningful purpose. Team Thrive is really professional, they're really fair, and they really do focus on improving the tools, the courses, and the content that can help your site to convert better.
And pro number four, Thrive partners with just about everything. Yes, Thrive can do a lot of things, but it can't do everything, so it's really nice to see that they've really gone out of their way to partner with as many different companies as possible, so that way when Thrive can't do something, it seamlessly partners with companies that can.
THRIVE THEMES VIDEO REVIEW: CONS
Con number one, tool overload. It's great having every tool, bell, and whistle at your disposal. But not if it makes you lose sight of your business fundamentals. This can be a real problem if your site isn't making any money yet. It's so easy to get caught up on how to use these different, shiny Thrive tools instead of focusing on that handful of essential ones that can really help you grow your business.
Con number two, Thrive Themes ain't cheap.
Make sure you check out the next section of this video where we talk about Thrive's actual pricing plans. Thrive is set at a price point where it may feel just a little bit expensive to some people. Yes, you're getting way more value than what you're paying. However, if you're bootstrapping you really have to be honest with yourself, not with me, not with some other guru marketer, with yourself and with your business. I really do recommend using Thrive Themes when you're at a point where you know it's not going to hurt your pockets and when you know you're going to use it. Otherwise, what's the point?
And con number three, the learning curve. In a perfect world, as soon as you start using the Thrive software, everything is so intuitive that you have no learning curve. And it just instantly comes to you. But it's not like that. While there are some aspects of Thrive Themes that are really intuitive. For example, Thrive Architect. Thrive Architect is a way to make your blog posts look stylish and clean at the same time. But it's like a what you see is what you get editor.
So if you're familiar with most types of word processing software, like Microsoft Word or Apple's Pages, it makes a whole lot of sense. But when you take an element like Thrive Leads, if you're not used to using it, it is going to take some time to learn. To lessen that learning curve, I think Thrive Themes does a really good job of creating simple, clear, straightforward tutorials right in the members' area. That way you can learn what you need to learn, when you need to learn it, even if you're a non-techie like me.
THRIVE THEMES PRICING
With Thrive Themes, you have two membership types. You have your Thrive membership and your Agency membership. We're not going to worry so much about the Agency membership, because most of us will be using the Thrive membership for individuals and entrepreneurs. You can pay quarterly or you can pay annually.
If you're paying quarterly, so every three months, they'll charge you $90, and that breaks down to $30 a month or $360 per yer, if you're paying quarterly. If you decide to pay annually, then you pay in full once a year, and you end up paying $228 for the year. This breaks down to be $19 a month. So this is the best plan if you're trying to save money. I'm currently on a quarterly plan. I'm not really sure why. I think it was because I was testing it out and I just never changed, but I'm actually going to be changing to the annual plan to save myself quite a bit of money.
You can purchase Thrive Themes from the Thrive Themes website, and I'll be sure to drop a link in the description box below.
WHO'S IT FOR?
Thrive is for the person who's looking to convert visitors into subscribers in a smart, seamless, non-sleazy way. Thrive Themes is for that marketer, content or otherwise, who's fed up with using so many different tools to meet their online marketing needs. It is for course creators. It's also for people who are really serious about creating content for their blogs, for their businesses, and for their audiences.
WHO ISN'T IT FOR?
Thrive Themes is absolutely not for the person who's playing business. So if you're doing your blog or internet business just as a little side hobby or side project, I think you can still succeed at that, but you don't necessarily need to pay for Thrive Themes to tinker around or experiment. I don't think Thrive Themes is for the person who's on a razor thin budget. You can still start a blog on a very low budget and then upgrade as you earn.
THRIVE THEMES VIDEO REVIEW: RATING
I really do enjoy being a Thrive Themes member, and I really enjoy seeing how this thing just keeps improving, and for that, I am going to give Thrive Themes a well-deserved A-. Well, gang, that'll wrap it up for today's Thrive Themes review. Hopefully you have a much clearer picture now of what Thrive Themes is, what it isn't, how it can help you, and most importantly, whether or not it's the right fit for you. Whether it's this suite of tools or some other one-off tool, please keep in mind that tools are just that, tools.
Yes, they do help, but they're not magically going to make your business successful or profitable. You are. Your content, your traffic, your products, etc. For those of you who would like to see a more detailed review of Thrive Themes, I've done a full write-up over on the Finish Something blog, and I'll leave a link to that in the description box below. Thank you so much for watching, guys. It's been a pleasure.
