How To Lose 40 Pounds In 100 Days – Day 41

40 Pounds Down Challenge - Day 41

It's time for another "40 Pounds Down Challenge" update.  Will I be able to show you how to lose forty pounds in one-hundred days? I have no idea! But I'm damn sure gonna try!

This is day forty-one and to be honest, I'm trying to figure out whether or not I've hit a plateau at 240-242 pounds. Let's dive in!

40 POUNDS DOWN CHALLENGE - Where I Was Last Week

I apologize for not having my earlier, pre-challenge photos. Honestly, the biggest reason was because I was really unhappy with what I saw in the mirror. However, I did write down what my weight was at the start of this challenge:

108.9 kg = 240 lbs

These are my photos taken at 20 days in, April 10th, 2020. I'm still sporting a rather unsightly set of rear love handles, but in time (by the end of this challenge) they'll be gone.

109.8 kg - Day 41 of the 40 Pounds Down Challenge

109.8 kg = 242 lbs

Up two pounds from last week.

What's Going Well?

In this midst of this COVID-19 situation, I've been able to stick to my game plan. My diet is the cleanest it's been in nearly a year and I'm making the time to train 4-5 days per week. NO EXCUSES!

I'm feeling good considering the state of everything going on in the world.

What's Not Going Well?

I'm up two pounds from last week. But I feel like I have a love-hate relationship with the scale right now. It feels like the number on the scale fluctuates even when I'm doing the right things. The solution? Keep doing the right things! Despite what the scale says...

The biggest challenge I'm facing is that I'm currently jobless and gym-less because of the corona virus. Here in Tokyo, Prime Minister Abe declared a state of emergency and it feels like everything took a hit.

Even in the face of these challenges. I refuse to stop. If I have to to pushups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks in my tiny, box of an apartment, then that's exactly what I'll do.  For now, I'm trying to come up with body weight exercise alternatives that will push my muscles as far as they'll go. Time to build some functional strength.

Goal for Next Week

My goal is to break into the 230's. Ideally, I'd like to see myself hit that 238 pound mark sometime next week. Whether the scale ends up reading that or not, I feel like "If I made it this far, it's only right to finish this challenge."

See You On Day 48!
