It's Friday, April 3rd, 2020! Today is Day 34 of my "40 Pounds Down" Challenge. I'm going to attempt to show you how to lose 40 pounds in 100 days.  Let's see if I can actually pull this off.

HOW TO LOSE 40 POUNDS IN 100 DAYS - Last Week

Last week I reached a low of 240 pounds (109.3kg).  You know when you step on the scale and just know? It was one of those weeks!
But how did I fare this week?

MY WEIGHT LAST WEEK (Day 27)

242 pounds = 109.8kg

40 POUNDS DOWN CHALLENGE - Where I'm At

Here are my Day 27 photos. Not much of a change in the last seven days from the looks of things. The part that bothers me most are my love rear love handles! But, I try to maintain realistic expectations. Those love handles will disappear as the weight and fat do. Plus, I have to keep in mind that it was more than six months of bad habits that got me here.  "Just stay the course, Donnie."

MY WEIGHT THIS WEEK (Day 34)

240 pounds = 108.9kg

Down about 2.0 pounds (0.9 kg) from last week.

What's Going Well?

Weight training is really going well. I'm see new strength maxes that I haven't seen before. At 39 years old, this is literally the strongest I've ever been (with the exception of my knee of course). I was able to bench press almost 287 pounds for 4 reps, with pre-fatigued muscles.

And...I hit my target of breaking getting under 109 kg - barely...

What's Not Going Well?

I had a some bad food slips on Sunday and Monday. My cheat day, Saturday, got a little out of hand.  When Sunday and Monday rolled around, I ended up eating more junk than I was supposed to. Luckily, I was able to snap back in my rhythm from Tuesday through Friday.  

Yes, mistakes happen.  However, I can't let the be the story for this challenge.  I really have to be a lot more mindful of my cheat days so I don't end up letting them derail my progress. Next week will be better.

How To Lose 40 Pounds in 100 Days - Next Week's Goal

I want to get under 240 pounds. How am I gonna do that? By being more disciplined on cheat day, and trying to be slightly more active with my cardio this week than I was last week.
